4 - We go above and beyond to provide our customers with the outstanding and personalized service they deserve, beginning from their first store visit and continuing all the way through delivery and setup.

THE POSITION
We are currently looking for a PART-TIME Retail Sleep Consultant to support our store in Millburn, NJ. You will be working on-site at our store (this is not a remote position).

You will be our first hire and a key-holder, with responsibility for opening and closing the store on most of your workdays. The growth opportunities for this position are immense and without limit.

The pay range for this role is $22.00 Hourly, PLUS you will earn a commission on your sales, and will also be eligible for a monthly bonus tied to overall store performance. This is a non-exempt position, meaning it is hourly and you could be entitled to overtime pay.

Your workdays will be primarily weekdays (Monday, Thursday, Friday).
Your shifts will typically begin between at 11am or 12noon, and typically end at 4pm or 5pm, depending on the day of the week.

YOUR ROLE
Provide every visitor with a personalized consultation, a world-class mattress fitting, and an exceptional customer experience.

Bring a customer centered approach to work every day, combined with a passion to help people solve their sleep problems.

Be relentless in developing your product knowledge and category expertise, all in the pursuit of serving your customer better.

Take full responsibility for all store operations when you are present, including opening, closing, receiving, shipments, inventory management, store maintenance, and proper implementation of all procedures.

Effectively implement company processes and utilize provided technology and tools.

When customers are not present, you will support store operations as needed, including merchandising, inventory processing and receiving, preparation and shipment of orders, and general store maintenance.

Assist with planning and executing various events and social media outreach.
Assist team with managing the daily workload of responding to customer emails.
Assist with suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service.

Record and relay customer metrics and other customer feedback to support our efforts to constantly improve the customer experience.
Accept coaching and feedback to achieve individual and team performance goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Basic computer, phone, and tablet skills are required.

Mattress knowledge or sleep category experience is a plus, but is not required.

1+ year of customer service and/or retail experience of some type is highly preferred, but not required.

High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Movement: This role requires the ability to move throughout the retail space to assist customers and includes lifting and moving products, prolonged periods of standing, adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions, the use of tools to accomplish tasks and move objects heavier than 50 pounds, ascending and descending ladders and stairs, and also light housekeeping responsibilities to include sweeping, vacuuming and light cleaning. May also include operating motor vehicles from time to time. The ability to properly asses the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned is required for success.

Operation: This role requires the skillful utilization of a computer and other office machines such as printers and tablets. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be able to learn store POS systems and other applications quickly when provided with the necessary training. Basic math skills are a necessity.

Communication: This role requires excellent interpersonal communication capabilities, the ability to partner and collaborate with teammates, and an unfailing ability to engage with visitors and create positive customer interactions.

Attitude: This role demands a customer service-oriented attitude, a friendly and approachable personality, the ability to perform and sell in a retail environment, the ability to maintain an enthusiastic and a positive attitude while working alone, an entrepreneurial spirit and a no-job-too-small outlook, a willingness to go above and beyond to serve the customer, a willingness to occasionally work extra hours outside your typical shifts, including possibly weekends, evenings, and holidays.
